Welcome to Beer Chronicles.com!  Drink Beer Here...

Welcome to Kenny and Shannon’s Beer Chronicles!
Grab a beer, have a seat and we’ll share with you stories of the beer we’ve enjoyed, the people we’ve encountered and the conversations we’ve strained to accidentally overhear. We’ll also throw in a few random bits of information that may or may not have anything to do with beer, but rest assured, we were probably thinking about beer at the time!

NEW! Browning's at Slugger Field
There's nothing better than beer at a baseball ball park, is there? Well, except for BETTER beer, which is exactly what you'll find at Browning's Brew Pub. Located within the Louisville Slugger Field complex,  Browning's is great place to come before a Louisville Bats game or to just stop by for a quick sample of their finely crafted beers. Notable selections include their Saint Hildegard Helles, Fluer De Lis  India Pale Ale and their porter. Right now, they are brewing a Belgian wit as well, which is lovely.  The service at Browning's  is friendly and prompt and the menu is fairly extensive. Our favorites have been the dual hummus appetizer and their slightly spicier version of a shrimp and crab bisque. If it has been awhile since you've been to Browning's, it's definitely worth a second look.

Breckenridge Vanilla Porter
Our Father, who art in Heaven, we praise you for this beer. We know we are worthless mortals and do not deserve such a beer, but we thank you whole-heartedly for allowing us to enjoy this celestial, flavorful and awe-inspiring beverage in your mercy. Hallowed be the rich, chocolate color, the angelic vanilla aroma and blessed smooth taste of this beer.  We’d also like to humbly ask for your blessing upon the holy women and men at the Breckenridge Brewery in Denver, Colorado who so graciously give of themselves to create Vanilla Porter, which we found in cold six packs at the Liquor Barn in Louisville. Amen. www.breckenridgebrewery.com/beer/vanillaporter.html

Whitbread Pale Ale
Whitbread is an enjoyable, chestnut-colored ale with hints of spice and caramel.  Beer purists find this ale to be mediocre, but maybe the planets were aligned well the night I tried this beer or I already had a taste-altering buzz because I liked it! I tried this beer on tap at The Pub in Louisville, which is a trendy, British Pub-esque bar and restaurant in Louisville’s Fourth Street Live complex. Where this beer hails from is confusing. From what I can gather, it began in 1742 and was originally brewed in London by Whitbread PLC, which sold their brewing interests to InBev in Belgium. (InBev also has some controlling interest in Boddingtons, Beck’s and Stella Artois.)   To make matters more perplexing, apparently the beer is brewed for American consumption in Cincinnati. If anyone can explain all this further to me, please do so! My head is spinning! Bottom line, the beer is good no matter where it’s brewed! I really can't find a true beer website for Whitbread, so I give you the ratings on Beer Advocate

Dog Fish Head 120 Minute IPA
The Dog Fish Head people wasted two hours of their time making this swill. Hailing from Milton, Delaware, this beer is deceptive, because it smells delightful, but tastes like rotted cabbage from  a New Jersey landfill.  You know how sometimes you have to throw up and you really don't want to and you try to hold it back, but you kind of throw up a little bit anyway? If you like that, then try this beer.
